Goygoy

Chat Platform · 2026

What it solves

Community chat platform that brings messaging, voice rooms, video calls and screen sharing into one application. Servers, channels, roles and a friend system keep a small team's communication in a single place.

Outcome

Screen sharing with tab audio, role-based authorisation, and infrastructure running entirely on free service tiers.

A group of friends or a small team never fits its conversation into one application: the chat lives in one place, voice calls in another, screen sharing in a third. The group's history also stays tied to whichever platform account it was created under. Goygoy was built to bring that scattered set into a single place.

The application is organised around servers and channels, so text rooms, voice rooms and video rooms for the same group sit side by side. Screen sharing carries tab audio with it, which means watching something together needs no separate tool. A role and permission system decides who may create channels, who may mute whom and who may invite; the friend list, direct messages and unread tracking live inside the same structure.

The decision that shaped the project was staying entirely within free service tiers. That keeps infrastructure cost at zero, but it also sets the ceiling: concurrent call minutes and storage quota are bounded by the provider's free limits. In exchange, every authorisation decision is made on the server and the database is protected at row level. Being free does not mean security was relaxed.
